Applying for a Lifeguard Job

Each year the Wildwood Beach Patrol recruits lifeguards to protect it’s 1.25 miles of ocean beach. All candidates must undergo extensive training before they can become ocean lifeguards. Wildwood Beach Patrol sets rigorous standards that meet the requirements set by the South Jersey Lifeguard Chief’s Association. We are particularly interested in hiring competitive runners, rowers and swimmers.

Tryout Date: Saturday - June 12, 2010 at 10:30AM
Location: Von Savage Memorial Pool, 8800 New Jersey Avenue, Wildwood Crest, NJ 08260.

The Test:
  • 500 meter swim, 10 min. or less
  • 1 mile beach run, 7 min. 30 sec or less
  • Run - ocean swim, conditions permiting
  • Surf-dash, timed
  • Personal interview

  • You can download an application here. Applications will also be provided at the pool on the day of the test. Canidates under 18 years must have a parent signature on the application. Applications can also be picked up prior to the test date at the Wildwood Beach Patrol's headquarters at Lincoln Avenue and the Beach, Wildwood, NJ. For more information, call:
